Frequently asked questions...
We operate from 10 October through to 31 March. This takes in the Spring and Summer when our gardens are at their best. We also catch the start of the vibrant change of colour in Autumn (Fall).
With our temperatures sometimes below freezing in winter and up to 30 degrees Celsius in summer our gardens are described as cool climate gardens with many plants similar to English plantings with a combination of New Zealand natives. The spring bulbs do exceptionally well after a cold winter. Shortly after we have blossoms, azaleas, rhododendrons, irises and peonies. The roses begin to bloom as the perennials appear. The brilliant autumn colours give a vibrant showing along with the hydrangeas and the heathers. All through the season we have a backdrop of established trees with
a borrowed landscape that adds to the beauty of the gardens.
The trip has a 3 ½ hour duration. We return to Queenstown at midday in time for guests to enjoy an afternoon at leisure or participate in an afternoon activity.
Certainly, we will pick you up from your hotel, motel, B & B or hostel! Or if is more convenient for you we can collect you from the Station in the town centre.
No, not at all. Just come and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We are sure you will leave inspired and enthusiastic to create a planted area at your own home – whether it be in pots, window boxes or your garden – size doesn’t matter.
We use small comfortable coaches which seat a maximum of 22 ones. This allows us to keep our groups to a small and friendly size.
